Event Catering Assistant

£13 an hour Casual, mostly weekends Events across South Wales 16+

Serving, setting up and packing down at weddings, festivals and parties. No catering experience needed.

The Job

You will be the person guests see. At a wedding that might mean plating up and running food to tables; at a festival it is taking orders at the hatch and keeping the queue moving.

Before service you help set up the unit and the serving area, and afterwards you help clean down and pack away. Every shift runs with a team leader in charge, so you are never left to work an event out on your own.

What You Will Do

  • Setting up serving areas, tables and the unit before guests arrive
  • Taking orders, serving food and drink, and taking payments at public events
  • Keeping your area clean and following our food safety and allergen procedures
  • Clearing, cleaning down and packing away at the end of the night

What You Need

  • To be 16 or over, with the right to work in the UK
  • To be friendly with the public and happy on your feet for a full shift
  • To be reliable: once you say yes to a shift, the team is counting on you

Good to Have

  • Bar, café, restaurant or event experience
  • A Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate (if you do not have one, we pay for it)
  • A driving licence, or a reliable way of getting to venues

How the Work Runs

  • Pay: £13 an hour.
  • Casual work: you choose which events you take on.
  • Mostly weekends, busiest from April to October.
  • Some shifts start from our base in Tonypandy and some at the venue. We tell you where and when for each one.
  • We pay for your Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate if you do not already have one.
